Solving the Climate Crisis, One Air Conditioner at a Time

During the summer, air conditioners in our cars are a moderately beautiful important part of our lives. ACs, though, not only take force to run, but also require the use of a chemical to rather cold the air. The refrigerant chemicals used for air conditioners used to be CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons), more commonly known as freon. CFCs, however, have multiple problems; they have an incredibly deleterious effect on the ozone bed and are also extremely forcible contributors to global warming.

In 1987, the between nations community came together and with haste and decisively moved absent from using CFCs as the cooling medicine chemicals of option. President Reagan joined other cosmos leaders and signed the Montreal Protocol, which was a will to our political will and separate to address the increasing hole in the ozone bed and protect national health.

However, the cooling medicine chemicals we use today are still not as unstained as they should be. Today, the chemicals used in most air conditioners not only empty the ozone stratum (though less so than CFCs), but are herculean contributors to meteorological character change.

Not long ago, though, there’s been useful news. This year, the EPA approved a new charitable of coolant for car air conditioning systems for medium of vision-duty vehicles including cars and puny pickup trucks. With this new chemical, the global warming stroke of the air conditioner is significantly reduced, and it does not at all give to depletion of the ozone stratum. The new chemical also does not alter the air conditioner’s completion.
