Here at Gardner-Webb Universal school we have been experimenting with common salt for about 2 semesters. After a few firings we began to cognizance a pattern; only a few spots in the kiln were acquirement sufficient amounts of muriate of soda. The kiln that we use is a gas kiln and has never had much consistency. There have only been a puny number of pots to approach out of that kiln with the intended tinge and texture.

The question at issue is, if you spend 16 hours of your week attention a kiln, you want your pots to draw near out incredible…this is not always the covering. So my question is, is it more workman-like to work verily hard and get one ample pot out of a gas kiln than not working so rigid and getting a lot of big pots from an electric kiln? Who knows? But you cannot render free of access up an electric kiln and pour strike after pound of muriate of soda in. Since salt is what we are going for, I divine gas is the only way to get there for now.
